Kindle Paperwhite Kids Bundle Is the Best Deal Right Now (Even for Adults)

You know how Amazon loves a good sale? Well, right now they’ve got the Kindle Paperwhite Kids bundle marked down, and honestly, it’s not just a great deal for kids, it’s a solid choice for adults too.

So, hereโ€™s the scoop: Normally, the Kindle Paperwhite Kids bundle goes for $179.99, but itโ€™s currently on sale for $139.99. And if youโ€™re thinking about grabbing more than one (maybe one for you and one for a kiddo?), you can get an extra $20 off when you buy two. Not bad, right?

Now, you could save $5 by going with the regular Kindle Paperwhite while itโ€™s on sale. But hereโ€™s why the kidsโ€™ version is worth considering: It comes with a case and a two-year warranty that covers accidental screen breakages way better than the standard one-year warranty on the regular Paperwhite. Plus, you get six months of Amazon Kids+ instead of three months of Kindle Unlimited. Sure, Amazon Kids+ is geared towards younger readers, but if you donโ€™t care about Kindle Unlimited, itโ€™s a pretty sweet deal.

Fun fact: There is no difference between the regular Paperwhite and the kidsโ€™ model. They are the same device. Amazon just includes a case and markets it differently. You can switch between kids mode and regular mode on any Kindle. So, donโ€™t let the โ€œkidsโ€ label trick you. Speaking of cases, the bundle lets you choose from three designs. However, if you want the โ€œDiary of a Wimpy Kidโ€ cover, it will cost you an extra $5.

Oh, and thereโ€™s also a Kids Essentials bundle for $159.98 that comes with a 9W wall charger. But get this! the charger is $19.99 by itself, so the bundle price is exactly the same as buying everything separately. Not exactly the groundbreaking deal they want you to think it is.

One thing to keep in mind: In the past, kidsโ€™ Kindles were ad-free by default, but not anymore. If youโ€™re using it in kids mode, you wonโ€™t see screensaver ads, but switch to regular mode, and yep, there they are, unless you cough up an extra $20 to Amazon. Personally, Iโ€™ve just been using kids mode to dodge the ads because, honestly, Iโ€™m too cheap to pay the fee.

If youโ€™ve been thinking about getting a Kindle, this might be the perfect excuse to finally grab one. And hey, who says itโ€™s just for kids?
